The Best of the Worst

How many of you have movies that you are ashamed to admit you love? Come on, don’t deny it. We all have them. They are the movies critics pushed aside. They were the straight to DVD (or VHS). They were only in theatres for a brief time. They are those movies. Or when someone asks who likes a certain movie and this happens:

Its always a little embarrassing.

So naturally, I figured I would share those embarrassing movies with you now.

Now, I’m not saying all these films are THEE worst. But they weren’t cult movies, and they weren’t huge block busters either.

To start things off, the first movie that comes to mind is Jennifers Body. It stars Megan Fox, and ironically, Amanda Seyfried (who is in the gif above). It was written by the same lady who wrote the successful movie ‘Juno’. But this one wasn’t so successful.  But I still like it.

Another film is the remake of Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis (who I adore). Not only do I think Jamie Lee Curtis is awesome, but I LOVED Chad Michael Murray. The movie is about a mother and daughter switching bodies until they can learn to appreciate each other. I read my mothers old copy of the book until the front cover fell right off. Unfortunately I haven’t seen the original since I was very young.

The Newsies, starring Christian Bale at the age of 17 is a Disney Musical that came out in 1992. It focuses on the orphaned boys of New York, who go on strike when the papers they sell go up in price. I’m not a fan of musical oriented movies, but this one won over my heart. (Christian Bale may have helped).

That concludes the first ‘Best of the Worst’. A lot of movies I love are forgotten until they pop up somewhere and I am reminded of them. That is why I decided to make this a ‘segment’ for the blog.

Let me know what movies you secretly love to watch!

But for now, that’s all.

  1. The best of the worst for me would have to be the straight-to-video films featuring the Olsen twins jetting off to foreign countries (Passport to Paris, Winning London, Holiday in the Sun, etc.) and getting caught up in puppy love. They’re so unrealistic and indulgent, yet I can’t look away!
